Sullivan, Caplinger, Hendrickson, Sheppeard & Stacy take class wins,
Sheppeard takes King of the Track!

 

            Over 200 vehicles showed for first round eliminations for a shot of King of the Track at Kil-Kare Dragway Saturday. In the Sonic Drive In Super Pro Division we would see Ron Vance of New Carlisle dial a 5.13 to the 5.31 of Tim Klopfenstein Jr. from Xenia. Tim would win the starting line battle with a .521 however it would be Ron on the breakout win with a  5.142 pass. Next would be Ken Sullivan of West Carrollton dialing a 4.98 to the 6.39 of Rob Stacy from New Carlisle. Sullivan would cut a .508 light and would take the breakout win with a 4.990 pass. The last pair for the round would be Bob Lykins dialing a 5.42 to the 5.14 of Rob Stacy both from New Carlisle. Lykins would be better at the tree but only by .002. Lykins would get the round win with a 5.427.

            In the semifinals it would be Lykins dialing a 5.42 to the 5.13 of Vance. Lykins would cut a .514 light and would take the win with a 5.428 pass. Sullivan would have the bye to the finals.

            In the finals it would be Sullivan dialing a 4.98 to the 5.42 of Lykins. Sullivan would cut a .502 and would take the breakout win over Lykins with a 4.9899 run.

            In the Pro division we would see Joe Barney dialing a 6.40 to the 6.34 of Jerry Lee Jr. both from Springfield. Jerry Lee would cut a .516 for the advantage, and would get the win with a 6.425 pass. Next would be James Sanders of Riverside dialing a 6.84 to the 7.03 of Doug Caplinger from Xenia. Caplinger would cut a .528 for the starting line advantage with a 7.031 for the round win. Next would be Nathan Baker of Xenia dialing a 6.14 to the 6.93 of Ray Salyers of Xenia. Salyers would get the better light with a .542 however it would be Baker on the win light with a 6.144 for the breakout victory. Brian Hendrickson would have the bye run.

            In the Semis we would see Caplinger dial a 7.01 to the 6.34 of Lee. Lee would go red moving Caplinger to the finals. Next would be Baker dialing a 6.14 to the 7.57 of Hendrickson. Hendrickson would cut a .508 at the tree and would take the breakout win with a 6.132.

            In the finals Hendrickson would dial a 7.58 and Caplinger would dial a 7.03. Hendrickson would go red making Doug Caplinger the Pro Class winner.

            In the sportsman quarterfinals we would see Brian Hendrickson of Hamilton dial a 12.00 to the 13.71 of Willie Fairchild from New Carlisle. Fairchild would go red moving Hendrickson to the semis. Next would be Keith Cork of New Carlisle dialing a 13.47 to the 12.29 of Earl Wyatt from Bellbrook. Wyatt would cut a .505 light, and would take the win with a12.468 pass. Rob Nixon of West Chester would have the bye run.

            Semis would see Hendrickson and Nixon both dialing 12.00 for a heads up race. Hendrickson would be better off the tree with a .532, and would take the double breakout win with an 11.973 pass. Wyatt would have the bye to the finals.

            In the Sportsman finals it would be Hendrickson dialing a 12.00 to the 12.25 of Wyatt. Hendrickson would be better at the tree with a .542 light and would take the class win with a 12.053 pass.

            In the Buckminn’s D&D Harley Davidson Pro Bike Division, we would see Bill Camp of Xenia dialing a 9.04 to the 9.22 of Scott Sheppeard from Springfield. Camp would go red moving Sheppeard to the next round. Next would be Darrell Carmichael of Tipp City dial a 9.56 to the 9.48 of Bob Nugent of Trotwood. Nugent would go red moving Carmichael to the semis. Steve Withem had the bye run.

            In the semis it would be Withem dialing a 10.76 to the 9.66 from Carmichael. Carmichael would go red moving Withem to the finals. Scott Sheppeard would have the bye run to the finals.

            In the finals it would be Withem dialing a 10.77 to the 9.24 of Sheppeard. Withem would go red making Sheppeard the Buckminn’s D&D Harley Davidson class winner.
            In the Junior Dragster Division we would see Cymanthia Card of west Milton dialing an 8.78 to the 8.86 of Paige Vance. Vance would cut a .549 light and would take the breakout win with an 8.891 pass. Next would b Grace Rowe of Marengo dialing a 12.95 to the 8.98 of Garreth Sheppeard from Springfield. Rowe would cut a .606 light and would take the double breakout win with a 12.925 pass. Shelby Stacy would have the bye run to the semis.

            In the semis we would see Rowe dial a 12.89 to the 9.98 of Stacy. Stacy would be better at the tree with a .630 and would take the breakout win with a 10.013 pass. Vance would have the bye to the finals.

            In the finals we would see Vance dial an 8.89 to the 9.97 of Stacy. Vance would cut a .502 light but would breakout making Stacy the event winner with a 10.050 pass.

            Scott Sheppeard would take the King of the Track honors for the 2010 season.
